Delicious pasta recipe for Shrimp Fra Diavolo with fresh shrimp a nice spicy punch in a tomato sauce and linguine.

2 Medium onions
5 Garlic cloves
3 tbsp Olive oil
1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp Basil, fresh, chopped
4 tbsp Italian parsley, fresh, chopped
1 tsp Crushed red peppers flakes
1/2 tsp Dried oregano
1 1/2 tbsp Brown sugar (light)
1 - 1 1/2 lbs Shrimp, raw, peeled, deveined
1/2 lb Linguine
Salt & pepper to taste
  1. Add oilive to large/deep skillet
  2. On medium heat saute onions for approximately 3 minutes
  3. Add garlic and continue to saute for a few more minutes
  4. Add can of crushed tomatoes, red pepper flakes, oreganoand brown sugar
  5. Bring to boil then simmer for 15 minutes
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste
  7. While sauce is simmering prepare linguine
  8. When linguine is about 5 minutes from being ready add shrimp, parsley and basil.
  9. Simmer 3-4 minutes to allow shrimp to cook.  Careful not to overcook the shrimp as they will become tough.
  10. Drain linguine and add pasta to sauce
  11. Toss well and serve!
