Chocolate Pudding Cake

Excellent served in a bowl with ice cream or alone.  It's very rich so serving sizes don't have to be too big.

The Cake
1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp butter
The Pudding
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1-3/4 cup boiling water
2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Sift dry ingredients for the cake together
  3. Add milk, vanilla and butter and mix well
  4. Place cake mixture in a round 8" deep casserole dish or pudding bowl (6" deep ideal) that is greased (not floured)
  5. Mix all sauce ingredients
  6. Pour over top of cake mixture; yes do this really!
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour
  8. Let the cake sit for about 30 minutes after baking to allow the sauce to thicken up a bit (this is under the cake; really)
  9. Enjoy!
